The Southeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging was founded in 1975 under an amendment to the Older Americans Act of 1965. The Southeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging (SEIAoA) is one of 13 area agencies in the State of Illinois. 全国有670家地区机构. Community Resource Centers 和Café’s: Designated by SEIAoA, offers centers in each of the 9 counties of Wabash, 韦恩, 爱德华兹, 白色, 劳伦斯, 克劳福德, 碧玉, 里奇兰, 和汉密尔顿. Coordination activities are conducted toward the development of a comprehensive and integrated service delivery system through the establishment of working relationships with other funding agencies and service providers.
In 1965 the OAA is enacted and contains ten broad policy objectives aimed at improving the lives of older persons:

Access Application (formerly Circuit Breaker)-BAA is for Illinois Residents, 65岁或以上或有残疾, and who meet certain income requirements to receive license plate discounts.
SHIP – Senior Health Insurance Program is a service to help with obtaining the right information in Medicare Part D, 医疗保险结算, 医疗保险补充和医疗保险A,B, 和C.
Adult Protective 服务 – Is locally coordinated through the Illinois Department on Aging, Southeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging and our local provider SWAN. All APS Supervisors 和Caseworkers are trained and certified by the Illinois Department on Aging.
Transportation – 服务 are delivered through RIDES Mass transit. Available to deliver you or your loved one to the Senior Resource Center, Dr. 约会和购物. Trips are also a fun addition and available at each Senior Resource Center.

Strong For Life – A balance and band training program, used to offer strength training at a more stationary approach. This exercise will help the participant gain better strength through resistance.
